March 1, 1998 - NS BASIC Corporation announced today that despite Appleıs
cancellation of the Newton platform, it is business as usual.
"Steve Jobs may have pulled the plug, but MessagePads and eMates don't depend on being plugged in - they'll keep on running and so will we." said George Henne, President of the company.
NS BASIC with Visual Designer and NewtCard will both continue to be available from the companyıs resellers and directly from the company. The company also intends to continue to provide support for the products.
A new version of NewtCard will soon be made available on the companyıs website for free download by registered users. It will feature bug fixes and enhancements. NewtCard is a new product which brings hypercard-like functionality to the Newton platform. It has won numerous accolades and awards since its release.
Likewise, an update for NS BASIC will be made available soon, also featuring enhancements and fixes. NS BASIC with Visual Designer is a complete implementation of the BASIC programming language, with extensions to take advantage of the rich Newton environment. NS BASIC has thousands of users in over 40 countries.
