NewtCard 1.0 from NS BASIC Corporation
(http://www.nsbasic.com/info/newtcard/)

NewtCard is a HyperCard-like application for NewtonOS 2.1 devices. That means you create Stacks of Cards to store and organize information. It's like a stack of 3x5 index cards, except you can create hyperlinks between Cards. In addition to simple Card and Stack links, you can write Scripts to perform more complex tasks.

The $99.95 package includes the NewtCard application, sample Stacks, XPort Lite, the 140 page NewtCard handbook, and the NS BASIC Handbook. It works with the eMate300 and MessagePad 2x00. If you're a MP owner, you'll also get NewtWorks/Draw, as that's included with the package. The whole package takes a couple hundred kbytes of storage when installed (internal or Card storage works fine).

NewtCard has three modes: Browse mode is where you use a Stack. You can move from card to card, click buttons, and enter information in fields. Draw mode allows you to draw (using NewtWorks/Draw) on a specific Card, or on a Card background. You can paste pictures into NewtCard from any other Newton Application. The Button & Field mode is where you design your Stacks - you can add Buttons or Fields (which are based on standard Newton user interface elements) to a single Card or to a Background that's shared by several Cards. It's a lot like designing a paper-based form, except it's a lot more powerful. Buttons can perform several pre-programmed actions (like going to another Card or Stack, playing a sound, or running an application) or they can execute a Script when the user taps them.

Scripts make NewtCard much more than a really easy database. Using Scripts, you can create powerful applications in NewtCard. You can create reports based on the contents of the Cards in a stack, validate input into fields, calculate values for fields, and much more. Each button and field may have a script attached to it. The script is run whenever the button is tapped or the field's value changes. You can also attach scripts to cards, Backgrounds, and Stacks, for such events a "Arriving" and "Leaving".

NewtCard is a flexible information storage and retrieval tool. It's immediately useful, since you can create powerful database stacks without using the Scripting feature at all. You can venture into Scripting when you need more that the basic navigation abilities.
