"SF Map" by Peter Belanger Description
"I've put a lot on time into making all the map images as small as possible. All the maps that I used are from Yahoo's map page ( I don't know what this means legally). The images started out as full color images. I had to convert them into bitmapped images (which made them look like shit) to keep the file size small. A lot of photoshop work went into cleaning up the maps and adding street names."

"You start by clicking on the main map to zoom in. From there you use the invisible buttons around the map frame to go in the direction you want."

"Each map also has a drawing layer over it, which can be used to add notes, directions or anything else you may want. You may then fax or print the map with this information on it. The "H" button hides the drawing layer and the "s" button will show it again. "

And a further comment from the author: "I have finally finished my map! Now maybe my life can get back to normal. I think Newtcard is one of the best programs on the newton (I'm not saying this to help my chances of winning). The great thing about Newtcard is that it lets non programmers like myself, give back to the Newton community. I've very excited about have other people using my map."

Judges's Comments: "This (too) is what NewtCard is all about. It's a great way to navigate around downtown San Francisco. Add pages on local tourist attractions and the San Francisco Tourist Board would have to buy it. Great stack!"

"SF Map" is available for downloading from the NS BASIC ftp site at http://www.nsbasic.com/newton/support/download.shtml. If you don't already have NewtCard, you can download the NewtPlay.sit file to run the stack.
