NS BASIC Corporation is pleased to announce the results of the third NS Basic for Palm Programming Contest. With over 60 entries, we once again set a record. The quality of the entries was also up. Winners from the last contest would have been just average this time around.

We added two new categories this time: Japanese and Shared Libraries. Even if you don't have a Japanese Palm device, it's worth having a look at what was done in this catagory. The entries in the Shared Library category, while few in number, are important because of the implications and uses they have for all NS Basic programmers.

Significantly more apps that were commercial or shareware. A number of authors noted that their package was being downloaded thousands of times from sites such as PalmGear.

We've posted the winners and honorable mentions at http://www.nsbasic.com/palm/info/contest3.html, along with screen shots. In most cases, authors posted their programs and even their source code, so you can see how they did some of the neat things in their programs. Checks for $100 are on their way to each of the winners. The judging was close in almost all categories: all the entries deserve congratulations.

The winners in each category are:

Enterprise
