Create apps for new Palm and Sony devices quickly and easily
October 15, 2002 -- NS BASIC Corporation announced today that its new product, NS Basic/Palm 3.0, is ready for the powerful new Palm OS 5.0 devices about to be released by Palm and Sony. Devices include Palm's new Tungsten series and Sony's NX series.
"We think Palm OS 5 devices will open up a whole new world of possibilities for the Palm OS.", said George Henne, President of NS BASIC Corporation. "The additional CPU power and memory of these devices will allow more complex and sophisticated apps to be created. We've worked hard to make sure NS Basic/Palm 3.0 is ready for these apps, while remaing easy to use."
NS Basic/Palm 3.0 maintains upwards compatability for thousands of existing NS Basic/Palm apps. They can be run without change on the new Palm OS 5.0 devices by using the free runtime that comes with Palm OS 3.0.
"The new rev does more than just bring support for Palm OS 5.0 devices," continued Mr. Henne, "We also added performance improvements and new features for developers using devices running Palm OS 3 and 4, including Palm's Zire (and earlier models), HandEra, Sony, Kyocera and others."
NS Basic/Palm 3.0 allows programmers to quickly and easily create apps with a true Palm OS "Look and Feel", by making full use of the Palm OS's capabilities. This results in a compact runtime that is highly compatible with all Palm OS devices.
