February 10, 2004 - NS BASIC Corporation announced today that NS Basic/Palm supports PalmSource's new Cobalt operating system for handheld devices. Existing NS Basic/Palm users will be able to easily move their applications to devices using the new OS. "PalmSource's new Cobalt operating system will bring new capabilities to handheld devices.", said George Henne, President of NS BASIC Corporation. "NS Basic/Palm will make it easier and faster for developers to take advantage of Cobalt. We're thrilled to be one of the first developer tools to be ready for the OS." The same program written using NS Basic/Palm will run on devices using Palm OS 3, 4, 5 and Cobalt without change. As a result, NS Basic apps will run on nearly all of the 30 million Palm OS devices sold to date - and will continue to run on future devices. NS Basic/Palm with Cobalt support is available immediately for $149.95 USD. Upgrades for existing users start at $49.95. Customers who bought after October 1, 2003 can get obtain the upgrade for no charge. Existing NS Basic programs are upwardly compatible with the latest version.
