Contest 2: Games

This was a tough category. Entrants were doing great things with graphics and had nice, clean designs to the games. Almost all would do well on PalmGear. It was a shame to have to pick just one.

MineBot by Christien Lee ***WINNER***
MineBot is a major variation on the traditional "MineSweeper" game. To be more specific, MineBot is a clone of a game called "Mined Out" that was written for the ZX Spectrum (Timex Sinclair) back in the early 1980's. The program is free. Source code can be bought from the author.

BibleGame by Danny H. Newport In this game, all the books of the Bible are displayed on the screen. You start with the first book of the Bible and it will automatically return to the original location which is at the top left of the screen and will continue as you click on each book till you get to the end. You can get a hint if you need one by clicking on the hint button. Download

Billionaire by Lowell K Oswald "Who wants to be a Billionaire" comes to life with realistic screen images. This is a demo. The full version has more questions and options. Email for details. This program also features a jazzy animated splash screen. Download

Crossword by Tommy B Do This is a very practical crossword puzzle game. It comes with two puzzles built in. Download

Fudge Dice! by Dan Ridenhour Fudge Dice! is an entertainment title designed for players and gamemaster of FUDGE related roleplaying games. This application development took a mere 5 hours to complete, and will soon be replacing the previous version (v1.1) which had been written in CASL and has registered over 980 downloads on PalmGear. Lynched Ultra by Kurt Hein This is a demo of a great little Hangman game. It managed to lynch one of the judges. It has some great animation. You can download the demo: the full version is for sale on PalmGear and Handango. Also available in monochrome. Download

Pig by Paul Lefebvre Pig is a dice game. The source is included. It provides good examples for how to handle menus, screen objects (buttons and text), databases and processing. Its code is very structured and has strict formatting and naming standards which along with the comments should make it very easy to understand. Download

Simple Puzzle by Ahchi Ng This is a challenging game where you move objects around to form a shape. This game will really get you thinking and challenge your spatial reasoning. "NSBasic is really a great product!" - Ahchi Download
