Once again, the entries in our latest contest are better than ever. There is a wide variety of applications, and it's clear that many of these are of commercial quality. Some entries were comprehensive and very useful: others were pure fun or showed off some cool tricks.
Due to the number of entries, we have combined the some of the categories.

Fretboard Mastery by Jana Software ***WINNER*** "This is my first commercial product using NSB (in the past I've just used
GCC) and I've been really pleased with the results, namely that it allowed
me to bring a product to the market in a very short time and the code is
fairly easy to port to VB. The product has been available for just under a
week and already it is bringing in a good number of sales which makes me
even more pleased! :-)" Judge's Comments: Even the judges thought they could learn to play the guitar from this nicely done, easy to use program. It teaches how to use a guitar fretboard in a clear, easy to use format. |

EP Calc by Kevin D. Kravitz Most people think in terms of heart rate (HR) but electrophysiologists think in terms of the cycle length (CL) of heart rhythms. The equations to convert the 2 are pretty simple but the actual calculation is difficult. HR = 60000/CL and CL = 60000 / HR. I deal with HRs generally 30 to 300 and CL 2000 to 200. EP Calc is to very quickly and efficiently perform these calculations. Judge's Comments:
Cool realtime heart monitor display. This is a pretty
specialized for doctors. |
